Ford Racing offers two versions of the 302 BOSS engine ∼ models B and E ∼ that differ primarily in the camshaft used. The B model suffers a rougher idle to yield 5 more horsepower at peek RPM. Either engine works well with the Mk3.1, but this build is oriented towards a vintage street version of the Cobra, and the 302 E, with a tamer idle, is the preferred choice.
