Engine fluids

  • radiator coolant (ethylene glycol antifreeze) with water in an approximate 50/50 ratio Photo :-5 AutoZone AF-2000 Prestone $14

  • engine oil 10W-30 for operations below 50° at startup, otherwise 10W-40 as recommended by Ford Racing Photo :-5 AutoZone VAL A/C 10W30 $4/qt

Make sure to change engine oil after the first 500-mile break-in period. After break-in, a switch to synthetic blend or full synthetic is acceptable, but not required. The Canton oil pan from Breeze requires 7 quarts. Use Motorcraft FL-1A oil filters.

  • Wilwood Hi-Temp 570 Racing brake fluid for master cylinder Reference :-5 Summit Racing WIL-290-2210 $40/12oz

Silicone DOT-5 fluid is not recommended for Wilwood clutch and brake assemblies. DOT-5 can be compressed which may, under high performance conditions, result in a “spongy” pedal.

  • Royal Purple Max-Gear Synthetic gear oil 70W-90 or multi-viscosity oil such as 75W-90 or 75W-140 for rear end differential, 2 qts

The IRS differential in the FFR Mk3.1 Complete Kit does not require friction modifier. Verify with manufacturer whether friction modifier is necessary.
